COVID19 Update - July 2020
We are involved with many aspects of ‘country walking’. Government advice about Covid19 precautions varies over the range of these activities and, as the general situation develops, it also varies with time. We try our best to monitor and follow the advice offered.
For ‘self-guided walking holidays’ Our first priority is the safety of our clients and we must be satisfied with every aspect of the holiday before making a holiday offer. However, we also have to consider our providers as well as our clients. Those operating our B&B’s and hotels, and those offering local transport, will have their own policies and we will be expecting them to follow official guidelines; at the same time we ask our clients to respect the safety and well-being of these providers. Unusual restrictions must be expected from time to time. We may be asking for amended terms and conditions to be agreed on any new bookings where a deposit is required. These could include the waiver of refunds should we enter new lockdowns, or any restrictions of travel, both to and within England, that impact upon our activities. We will be updating these terms at short notice from time to time but always in advance of any deposit being requested.
Guided Tours
- must follow the advice about ‘public’ transport and group gatherings. Typically our tours involve hired coach transport and the much anticipated cream tea at the end of the day. We are in regular contact with our coach provider and several venues where outdoor teas can be served but, as yet, these are still precluded.
Local Walks
- The irony of course is that walking the trails across the South Downs National Park or within the Sussex Weald are probably some of the safest places to be during this pandemic. However our walks regularly attract large groups of 40 or more people from many families and social distancing may be a problem. Pending further advice we have, therefore, cancelled our current guided walks programme. All those on our regular mailing list will be advised if and when this changes.
